In my research work I combine methods of image processing, computer graphics, and visual psychophysics. My current research is focused on a precise measurement, and modeling of material appearance. My research scope covers variety of applied contexts ranging from virtual design to quality control of material appearance.

Research topics (up to 2014):

Material appearance acquisition (fabric, leather, wood, paints, ...)

   - spatially homogeneous materials - Bidirectional Reflectance Distribution Function (BRDF)

   - textured materials - Bidirectional Texture Function (BTF)

Analysis, compression, and modelling of material appearance

Visual perception of material appearance (visual psychophysics)

Dynamic textures and video sequences analysis, restoration, and modelling
